On his second tour of duty came his untimely death, at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego. William will be missed by all of his friends and loving family.

I met Willy in Fallujah in 2004. I'm trying to get in touch with his family or former fiance.

I served with Will aboard Camp David in 2001 and 2002 and was also at the Marine Barracks with him for a short time in 2001. I spent many hours standing post and lifting weights with Will and I consider it one of my failings that I allowed us to lose touch after I left Camp in 2002. I have wondered many many times and still do if things would have been different if we would have remained in contact. I think of myself going to college after I had gotten out in 2005 and 2006 and of what my friend was suffering through, left to whither away in some shitty sickbay. All I can do is pound my fist on a table or cry over the missed opportunity to help a brother. William Wold was a good Marine and a good friend. His steadfast commitment to duty is a testament to himself, his family, and the ideals of the Marine Corps.
