Yancy was so proud of being in the military and serving his country. He spent the summers of 2006 and 2007 at Fort Knox, Ky., for basic and tank training. Yancy was born on May 14, 1988, in Spokane to Clint and Kathy (Williams) Goodwin. He was schooled at Northport, Wash., until he started school at Almira and later, Coulee City. He entered Almira-Coulee-Hartline High School in his freshman year, graduating in 2007. He enjoyed being a member of the ACH track team. Yancy came to Hartline to live with his grandparents, Dave and Patti Goodwin in 2002, starting in the seventh grade. Yancy loved fishing and hunting with his grandpa Dave and he especially loved his Granny Patti’s cooking and hugs. He enjoyed the youth group meetings at his church and the friendships he made there. His friends, camping out, playing Xbox, and serving his country were his priorities. He was also a competitive horseshoe pitcher with the WASHINGTON State Horseshoe Pitching Association.
